If you have no or very little herbal background then the Introductory Course is the best place to start. Students with some knowledge of herbalism can begin in the Intermediate Course. Both of these courses (or an equivalent level of knowledge) are suggested as prerequisites to the Business and Advanced Courses, as they will give you the foundation you need to be successful in these more advanced level courses.

We offer four individual online foundational courses - Introductory Herbal Course, Intermediate Herbal Course, Business Herbal Course, and Advanced Herbal Course. You can take each of them individually, or we have also bundled them into the various Paths at a discounted price. These are work-at-your-own pace online courses, wherein you take a quiz at the end of each unit to progress to the next unit. The workload varies from course to course, and is based on how much time and effort the individuals puts into our suggested projects and studying for the quiz.

 

The Introductory Herbal Course is the best place for beginners because it begins with the basics of making herbal preparations , wildcrafting, anatomy, introduces you to many plants, covers common imbalances for adults and children, and discusses the overarching holistic approach of herbalism. Cost is $349.

The Intermediate Herbal Course reviews basic concepts in the first unit and then dives in deeper, working in-depth through body systems and discussing anatomy, physiology, and appropriate herbs—their actions, energetics, indications, and contraindications—and diet and lifestyle support for disharmony and disease in those body systems. The course also includes guidance for herbal formulation and lessons on phytochemistry and herbal support for children. Cost is $647.

The Business Herbal Course is geared toward students who want to start or maintain an herb-focused business. A step-by-step guide to starting an herbal business, the course is filled with lessons on sourcing herbs, Good Manufacturing Practices, labeling requirements, starting an herbal practice, creating a brand and maintaining an online presence, and plenty of advice from herbal entrepreneurs of all stripes. Cost is $799.

And finally the Advanced Herbal Course is geared towards those with a solid foundation in herbalism who are interested in advanced level studies and may be working toward becoming a professional/clinical herbalist. It provides the knowledge and encourages the critical thinking skills needed to turn to the daily and/or therapeutic use of plants to support wellness and correct imbalance. Cost is $1549.

Your enrollment comes with Lifetime Access to the course so you can enjoy your herbal studies at a pace that is most convenient to your schedule!  We suggest students complete the Introductory Course in 1 year (most people take 4-6 months to finish), the Intermediate  in 2 years (most people take 6-8 months to finish), the Business in 2 years and the Advanced Course in 3 years. Each course unit also comes with a downloadable PDF for offline study.
