The Botanical Skin Care Course would give you a good start in understanding and creating skin care formulations. However this course is focused toward home-based learners. If you would like to add what you learn in this course toward a business, I would suggest that you consider our Business Herbal Course or Entrepreneur Herbal Path Package to give you the business know how for success.

Note that we suggest that students who enroll in the Business Herbal Course have an intermediate level of knowledge in herbalism. This can be obtained via our courses here at the Academy, courses from other schools, or self-study. You can learn about these options on our course page here: https://theherbalacademy.com/courses-classes/

Further, these recipes are meant for home use, and could be adapted into formulations for sale, however one would need to pay close attention to making sure they are properly preserved and follow FDA's cGMPs and labeling guidelines for cosmetics.

While lots of the items in the Botanical Skin Care Course, could be sold as-is such as the soaps and bath salts, most of the recipes for lotions, creams, and more do not include preservatives, which should be used if you're making these products for general sale. We do give general instructions on the use of preservatives, but we don't include precise formulations appropriate for commercial use. If you would like to learn more about how to add more advanced emulsifiers and preservatives to your products so that they have a longer shelf life, then you might be interested in taking the Emulsifiers and Preservatives in Botanical Skin Care Intensive. This intensive is ideal for career herbalists looking to formulate and sell herbal products that stand the test of time or hobbyists seeking longer-lasting homemade products for their own personal skin care collection.
